Abstract

To assess the incidence of ectopic pregnancies meeting published criteria for laparoscopic or medical therapy, we retrospectively evaluated tubal pregnancies admitted during a 12-month period. Because 41/121 (34%) were visible laparoscopically, unruptured, and ≤3 centimeters in diameter, we conclude that substantial numbers of ectopics may be managed without laparotomy.
