Project Details

Description

A series of immersion trials are proposed at the University of Southampton to evaluate the corrosion performance and mechanism of Tungum alloy in simulant abiotic seawater, i.e., 3.5 wt. NaCl solution, for a test period of up to 30 days. Post test surface analyses are proposed which include both Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Xray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) studies. These complimentary techniques will enable the corrosion morphology to be fully assessed.
